Physical Therapy
Joint Effort Movement Center provides two unique offerings
you won't see elsewhere. We're proud to be...
The only Postural Restoration Certified Facility in South Carolina.
.avif)
The only Certified Functional Manual Therapist in Charleston.
The only Dance Rehab Facility in Charleston.

At Joint Effort Movement Center, our approach to physical therapy focuses on the root cause of your pain or discomfort.
During your initial evaluation with us, we not only assess your body from an orthopedic point of view (bones and muscles), but we also look at the role your neurological and respiratory systems may have on your condition.
For example, if you have tendinitis in your hip, we have often discovered that the issue could be with your rib cage. Weird, right? But we understand those types of connections and how to solve the problem.
What else makes our physical therapy different?
-
Each therapist works with just ONE patient at a time (no juggling multiple patients.)
-
You work with the SAME therapist throughout your treatment (allows for more focused results.)
-
You don’t have to make as many appointments. Our approach has found that clients heal better with more time between treatment sessions, which can also save you money.

Our Specialized Therapies:

Postural Restoration
Have you tried traditional PT, and it's just not helping?
Then, consider the alignment-resetting power of Postural Restoration (PRI), a therapy that treats your body as an interconnected system.
A key function of PRI is resetting the body's nervous system and improving muscle imbalances, which enhances stability and optimizes breathing to support functional movement. Plus, we get to play with balloons!
These balloons are used in specific exercises to engage the respiratory system and enhance the understanding of body alignment. It might sound unusual, but trust us, it's an effective and fun part of the process.
Postural Restoration is a transformative therapy. Joint Effort Movement Center, with its exclusive certification, is the only center in Charleston offering it!
If you've tried everything else without success, don't miss the opportunity to schedule a PRI evaluation.
Functional Manual Therapy
Functional Manual Therapy (FMT) is a hands-on approach that blends unique manual therapy techniques with movement to reduce pain and improve your range of motion.
FMT is based on the idea that the body's tissues are interconnected and that efficient movement requires a balance between the mechanical, neuromuscular, and motor control systems.
This specialized therapy is a comprehensive solution, targeting joint function, tissue mobility, and improving neuromuscular patterns.
It's designed to restore proper movement and bring hope for a pain-free, active life.
It's a truly unique therapy, and Joint Effort is the only center in Charleston offering this innovative approach.
If you've tried everything else without success, don't miss the opportunity to schedule an FMT evaluation.
