At Joint Effort Movement Center, our physical therapy approach utilizes Pilates-type positions and theories, making our Pilates mat offerings an excellent transition activity for current patients, as well as a powerful movement practice for all bodies . Our comprehensively certified instructor, Emily Weiss is dedicated to guiding clients of all fitness levels through this transformative practice, tailoring sessions to your unique needs and goals for a truly enriching Pilates experience.

Why Do Pilates?

Why do Pilates when there are hundreds of other workout options available to you?! Pilates at its core is movement. It’s intended to rebuild functional patterns. It’s intended to help find stabilization and stimulation as you move your body. It’s learning to strengthen and control the muscles you need to perform activities of daily life like opening cabinets and bending down to get something on the floor. It’s treating the body as a whole instead of focusing over and over on one muscle group. Pilates is an individualized practice that is going to be different and work differently than it does for the person next to you. It's movement for YOU!

This gentle and effective class is designed to help clients learn the basic principles of Pilates while improving flexibility, balance, and core strength to enhance your overall well-being. Our experienced instructor guides students through beginner Pilates mat exercises, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience, tailored to your unique needs and abilities.

Join our revitalizing 30-minute lunchtime express Pilates mat class for a quick, invigorating midday session. Strengthen your core, improve flexibility, and rejuvenate your body to tackle the rest of the day with renewed energy. All skill levels welcome. 

Come play with us! Through the use of Pilates props, this mat-based class will challenge your stamina and your mind to help improve your stability and speed. Classical and contemporary Pilates movements are used to ensure you move your body through all planes of motion while you also experience new muscle sensations by switching props throughout each class.

Not sure if Pilates is right for you? Want to try it out? This is the perfect session for you! 


Get a little taste with a 30 minute one-on-one introductory session. You'll learn basic Pilates moves, lingo, and breathing techniques to help get you started. 



45 min

In a one-on-one Pilates session, you can expect a personalized and focused experience. Pilates is a form of exercise that emphasizes core strength, flexibility, and overall body awareness. These sessions are particularly beneficial for those who prefer or require more individual attention, whether you're a beginner looking to establish a solid foundation, an athlete aiming to enhance performance, or someone seeking rehabilitation or injury prevention.



45 min

The Pilates Duo session is designed similarly to one-on-ones but includes the fun of sharing it with a friend, partner, or co-worker! These sessions are a fun and accessible way to practice and improve your muscle stability and strength in a semi-private environment. Free your body and mind with hands-on training and dedicated teaching focused on your individual knowledge and strength.
