Splint Integration Therapy

Did you know that you have ligaments in your mouth that are some of the most sensitive in the body? Did you know that how your teeth come together help you balance and maintain your posture?

Introducing Splint Integration Therapy, a progressive full-body treatment specifically designed to tackle chronic and complex biomechanical issues.

This approach is intended for clients whose longstanding conditions have not been effectively addressed by traditional therapeutic methods.

Our therapy involves a collaborative effort between a Postural Restoration therapist and a dentist, utilizing a specialized dental splint to improve mobility in the neck, ribcage, and pelvis.

It is particularly advantageous for individuals experiencing conditions such as Bruxism, whiplash, airway disorders, hypermobility and TMJ disorders.

The Process

The process starts with an assessment from Dr. Courtney, our Postural Restoration therapist.  There are a couple of key factors that help determine if you are a candidate for Splint Integration Therapy:

1) History - this is perhaps one of the most important keys.  Clenching, TMJ disorder, airway issues, and head trauma are definitive factors in determining if you are a candidate.

2) Facial Asymmetry - often times clients with severe cranial strain will have observed facial asymmetry.  One eye may be lower than the other, the jaw may be off more to one side, or it may even appear like the whole face is rotated.

3) PRI tests - PRI tests are a key measure in determining how your body moves (or doesn't move!).  If we can't get your system to stay neutral and stabilize, there's usually a deeper influence.

4) If you are a candidate for splint integration therapy, we will help match you with a dentist that can best address your needs.
